After spending last Friday in Pittsburgh and talking about the importance of robotics in manufacturing, the President returned to Washington. Since the family was touring South Africa, Obama used his free weekend time to get in two more rounds of golf. Besides, Michelle, the kids and cousins weren't returning until late Sunday night, and the country was paying for it.Monday, our leader and the VP met with Harry Reid to lay out a strategy for increasing the debt limit and taxes. That was followed by congratulating the MLS champion team Colorado Rapids at the White House, and a little soccer practice on the lawn. Feeling rejuvenated, the President and VP Biden tried to strong arm Mich McConnell into increasing the debt limit.
Today, he's back to business. He will fly to Moline, Illinois and tour the Alcoa Davenport Works factory. To a select crowd, Mr. Obama will reinforce his stance on the importance of manufacturing. However, there is no word about related fundraising activity while there. He is scheduled to arrive back in Washington by 6 PM tonight and will probably sit around in his new jersey and view the family photographs of Africa.
