Patriotic: No Gettysburg Rememberance from President Obama Today

Today is the historic 150th year anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address eulogy to the slain and wounded soldiers who sacrificed at that historic battlefield. But conspicuously missing from this commemoration will be the nation's current leader, President Obama.

(from https://sites.google.com/a/mvsdpride.org/bes-erinfitzgerald/the-gettysburg-address )
The Obamacare roll-out difficulties are requiring President Obama to spend more time with his senior staff. During the past week, he met with his senior advisers twice, Secretary of Defense Hagel twice, Secretary of State Kerry once, and Secretary of Treasury Lew once. In addition, he received a daily briefing each weekday, met with healthcare CEO's, delivered speeches about the Affordable Health Care Act, and worked with his political Organizing for Action group.

(from zimbio.com)

US Taxpayers treat "hardly working" Obama & family to $60 Million African tour

Less than 2 weeks after taking his family, including his mother-in-law and half-sister, to Ireland and Germany, President Obama embarked on a week long African tour. The group visited Senegal, South Africa, and Tanzania.

Officially, the reason for the trip was "to reinforce U.S. commitment to expanding economic growth, meaning we taxpayers will be sending more money to those counties".

Estimates for this vacation range from $60 to $100 million. But, since the family has removed public visitors from the White House, stopped Armed Forces participation in Air Shows, eliminated fireworks from various Army, Marine, Navy, and Air Force bases, and furloughed various workers, cost is not a factor.

Joining Mr. Obama on the trip was his wife, children, mother-in-law, and niece.

During this time, Mr. Obama did not participate in any daily briefings or work with senior advisers. However, he did find time to call certain Congressional leaders for the purpose to persuade them to open America's doors to illegal immigrants.

Next, he flew to New York City and dedicated the day to Democratic fundraising events. Also, he hosted a dinner at the Jefferson Hotel for select Democratic House leaders.

Because Mr. Obama spends so little time tending to U.S. affairs, it is little wonder that he insists that he knows nothing about the IRS targeting conservative groups or about Benghazi.

Obama golfs, attends NCAA game, has private movie viewing, hosts Egg Roll, and more sequester fun

President Obama's Easter week was dedicated to sports, entertainment, and travel. During this time, Mr. Obama played a round of golf, attended an NCAA basketball playoff game, hosted a movie crew, shot some hoops at the Easter Egg Roll, and was interviewed by two spanish television stations.

He did, however, spend a few hours to attending the official duties of a President of the United States. In this capacity, Mr. Obama received 3 daily briefings, met with his senior advisers twice, had lunch with Vice President Biden, welcomed 5 foreign dignitaries to the White House, met with Jack Lew, Chuck Hagel, John Kerry, and swore in a new Secret Service Director.

Mr. Obama also flew to Miami Florida, and spent the afternoon touring Port facilities and speaking about "Rebuilding America". As a backdrop, he spoke on a pier laced with Chinese built cranes. The White House covered the Chinese logos with American flags in order to hide the fact that these were all foreign built. However, as fate would have it, the flags fell off during the speech and the Chinese logos were revealed (WH Covers Chinese Logos with American Flags for Obama Speech Backdrop).

On the gun control front, Mr. Obama made another speech about the need for gun control in America. However, after targeted killings of a District Attorney and his wife, and two other prosecutors in Texas and Colorado, both President Obama and VP Biden remain silent on these violent attacks. Instead, they continue to pursue "gun control" measures that would limit and prevent U.S. law abiding citizens from legally obtaining firearms, a right granted to we citizens by our Constitution. Hopefully, the guns used by the assassins in these horrific murders were not among those distributed by the Obama and Holder Fast and Furious program (Texas Slaying First Time in History Wife of U.S. Prosecutor Has Been Targeted).

The majority of President Obama's time was spent on his own personal entertainment. Today, he is hosting the movie"42" cast and crew including Harrison Ford and director Brian Helgeland for a private screening of the movie.

Even though the White House Tours are still closed, Mr. Obama hosted the annual Easter Egg Roll yesterday. Among the special guests and celebrities that he brought to the White House were: Washington Wizards, Easter Bunny, NASCAR driver Danica Patrick, Minnesota Viking Adrian Peterson, Academy Award-nominated actress Quvenzhané Wallis and Elmo, Abby, Gordon and Rosita from Sesame Street, Jordin Sparks, Austin Mahone, Coco Jones, The Wanted, Jessica Sanchez, the full cast of Super Sprowtz (See: The politics of the Easter Egg roll and Be Healthy, Be Active, Be You: The 2013 White House Easter Egg Roll).

Weekly Air Force One and Helicopter flying time:
  • President Obama: White House to Miami Florida (round trip)  : 6 hours

Obama's Organizing for Action: Spend $2 Billion for battery research; fly to Chicago, Israel and Italy; and host White House Receptions

Having gotten rid of those pesky White House touring visitors, the President has used his staff for more important purposes. This week, he opened the White House to women from all over to celebrate "Women’s History Month". Today, he is hosting a St. Patrick's Day reception for an undisclosed group of attendees.

And still riding the sequester wave, Mr. Obama took the opportunity to fly to Chicago IL last Friday to visit the Argonne National Laboratory. There, he discussed how limiting the sequester was, but promised to propose a $2 billion grant for research in battery operated power. While the President could have done this from Washington, he felt it was more important to visit this organization in person, primarily because they were donors to his last year's re-election campaign (payback time?).

White House travel privileges were also extended to the Vice President, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Governor Susana Martinez, and Georgetown University President John J. DeGioia. They were given free transportation, hotels, meals, and most likely spending money in order to attend the Inauguration of the new Pope in the Vatican City (Italy).

Later today, the President will fly off to Israel for a few days of meetings there.

Officially, Mr. Obama succeeded in attending 4 daily briefings, and met with his senior advisers, Jack Lew, and John Kerry once each during the week.

One of his highlights was attending a "Organizing for Action" event last week. There, he was able to meet with and talk to many who helped him win re-election last year.

The Fiscal Cliff Spoils Mr. Obama's Christmas Vacation in Hawaii

Mr. Obama's Hawaiian vacation was spoiled by the threat of the country going over the Fiscal Cliff. Facing potential tax hikes for all those still working and the halting of unemployment benefits for those collecting, the President flew back to Washington DC without his family two days after Christmas. His week was spent working with the Vice President and leaders of both Houses trying to work out a deal.

Finally on New Year's Eve, an agreement was reached with the Senate and the measure was passed. On the following New Year's Day, the House of Representatives ratified the bill as well. Shortly thereafter, the President boarded Air Force One and flew back to Hawaii to finish his vacation.

Mr. Obama tours Asia as Michelle is entertained by Aretha

During the past week, President Obama has had only one daily briefing. That was last Wednesday. Since then, he spent one day meeting with business leaders, civic leaders, and congressmen promising all to raise taxes. Plus, he flew to New York City and toured the damage inflicted by Hurricane Sandy. However, the highlight of the week was his conducting a 4 day trip to Asia and visiting Thailand, Burma, and Cambodia.

He was joined on this trip with Hillary Clinton, but surprisingly, his wife Michelle stayed back in the U.S. After reading that Mrs. Obama attended an Aretha Franklin concert on Saturday with Eric Holder, we assume that Mrs. Clinton switched places with Mrs. Obama because the President wants the Secretary of State out of the country so that she cannot be questioned on Benghazi.

Unfortunately, the President's trip was marred by the interruption of the conflict between Israel and Palestinian Hamas. But, Mr. Obama found time to continue his bowing to leaders of other nations, promising to give them much of our US Tax dollars, and mispronouncing their names.

Mr. Obama celebrates his 100th round of golf, but did not take any illegal immigrants or members of the LGBT community with him

Mr. Obama's official weekly schedule included 1 daily briefing, a lunch with the winners of his re-election campaign contest, 4 fundraising events, the announcement of a decree in which he instructed the Department of Homeland Security to cease obeying the immigration laws, a weekend wedding in Chicago IL, and a 3 day G-20 Summit in Mexico.

Besides appeasing the Latino voters, the President spent nearly 1 day working on the Jewish vote by honoring President Shimon Peres of Israel. He also tried to strengthen the Gay community by hosting a reception for the LGBT community at the White House.

President Obama did celebrate a milestone this Father's Day. He played his 100th round of golf since being elected and living in the White House. Congratulations on this wonderful feat!

Joining the President at the Jarrett wedding in Chicago IL was his family (wife, children, and mother-in-law).  They all flew to the Windy City on Air Force One, and spent the weekend attending various social functions. (Here they are on their way to the wedding).

At the end of Father's Day, the President flew directly to Los Cabos, Mexico. However, he instructed the pilot of the other Air Force One plane to take his wife, children and mother-in-law to Oregon for a few days. As you remember, this is where Michelle's brother lives. While there, she made a brief speech at the University commencement.

Since Mr. Obama was not able to campaign, Vice President Biden picked up the slack. He attended 4 fundraising events and helped to feed the Obama For America campaign with hard earned dollars from the wealthy 1%.
