Alabama, Air Force, Fallon, and Warriors consume Obama's weekly schedule

Somewhere along the way, someone taught President Obama the saying:

All work and no play
makes Jack a dull boy!

Not wanting to be dull, Mr. Obama has taken this to heart and avoids much work.

A week has 7 days each containing 24 hours; and a common laborer must work about 40 hours a week.

By comparison, the President works about half of this. Using his last week's schedule as an indicator of his working effort, we find the President spends:
  • 7 hours in meetings
  • 3 hours greeting sports teams and other guests
  • 5 hours touring and speaking
  • 3 hours at campaign events, and
  • 2 hours taping television events and a weekly speech.
However, travel is often required, and last week, he was in a plane, helicopter, or limousine around 10 additional hours.

During the week, he met with his senior advisers 3 times, had 3 daily briefings, and met with Mrs. Clinton.

He welcomed 2 sports teams, wounded warriors, and teacher finalists to the White House. Obama visited the Holocaust Museum, and 2 community colleges. In between all this, he managed to sign a Proclamation naming Fort Ord a National Monument, and taped an interview with Jimmy Fallon.

And, Mr. Obama attended 3 campaign events.  By comparison, VP Biden also attended 3 campaign events, and Michell Obama attended 2.

The following summarizes the public schedule of the President, Mrs. Obama, and Vice President Biden in the week from Wednesday April 18 through Tuesday April 24, 2012.
