Another White House Concert and trips to 3 states keep Mr. Obama busy while the Biden's visit South America

As the scandals continue to unfold, the President avoids the controversies by separating himself from his governing duties.

During the past week, Mr. Obama received two daily briefings, and met once with his senior advisers, Secretary of Treasury Lew, and Secretary of Defense Hagel once.

The remainder of his time was spent traveling to Oklahoma, Maryland, and New Jersey. He also delivered a couple of speeches, hosted a breakfast, and participated in a Memorial Day wreath laying ceremony.

The highlight of his week was hosting another concert at the White House.

In order to prevent Vice President Biden from making any embarrassing statements, he and his wife are being treated to a week long getaway trip to Columbia, Trinidad, and Brazil.

• President Obama left the White House at 10:05 AM and flew to Asbury Park, NJ. There, he tours the rebuilding progress and delivers remarks at 1:30 PM. He will then fly back to DC and meet with Secretary of Defense Hagel at 4:30 PM. Then, at 5:30 PM, he will make a speech from the East Room.
• Mr. & Mrs. Biden left Haiti and flew to RioDe Janeiro Brazil.

Monday, May 27, 2013

• President Obama, and his wife Michelle, hosted a 9:30 AM breakfast in honor of Gold Star Families. At 11:00 AM, he laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and delivered remarks at Arlington National Cemetery afterward.
• VP Biden met with Colombian President Juan Miguel Santos in Bogota. That night, the family flew to Trinidad and met with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.

• Mr. Obama left DC at 9:45 AM and flew to Oklahoma City and toured the tornado damage and met with victims and first responders. He returned to the White House at 7:30 PM.
• VP Biden and his wife Jill began a 6 day tour of South America and the Caribbean islands to discuss economic growth. On Sunday, they flew to Columbia.

• President Obama left the White House at 9:20 AM and traveled to Annapolis MD, where he delivered the commencement address at the U.S. Naval Academy. He arrived back in DC at 1:10 PM, and signed a bill at 2:15 PM.

• President Obama received a daily briefing at 10:15 AM, and then met with his senior advisers at 11 AM. He ate lunch with VP Biden at 12:30 PM, and then made a speech on counter-terrorism at 2:00 PM.

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

• President Obama received a daily briefing at 9:45 AM. Then at 4:15 PM, he with Secretary of Treasury Jack Lew. In the evening, he and his wife hosted the Gershwin Prize Concert at the White House.

Four scandals, 4 commencement address, and 4 for golf round out Obama's week

This was a tough week for President Obama. During this time, 3 new scandals emerged and Benghazi fueled up again. But through it all, the President found the time to attend a DNC fundraiser in Atlanta, spend a day in Baltimore, and play a round of golf.

He did, however, receive 3 daily briefings, met with his senior advisers twice, and spent some time trying to advance undocumented immigrants.

In addition to his flying around, both his wife Michelle, and Jill Biden used our Air Force One planes to deliver commencement addresses in Tennessee and New Mexico.

• President Obama received a briefing about Oklahoma tornado response and severe weather at 9:30 AM. Then, at 10 AM, he delivered a statement to the country regarding the devastating twister.  This was followed by a daily briefing 15 minutes later. Next, he met with DREAMers who have received Deferred Action and U.S. citizen family members of undocumented immigrants at 11 AM. The President is then free until 4:30 PM when he will meet with Secretary of Defense Hagel.
• VP Biden delivers remarks at a reception hosted by the DNC in honor of Jewish American Heritage Month at 5:30 PM.

• Mr. Obama began the day at 10 AM with a daily briefing. At 11 AM, he left the White House and traveled to Baltimore MD. There, he visited an Elementary School, toured Ellicott Dredges and a community center, and delivered brief remarks. Mr. Obama left Baltimore at 3 PM and was back in the White House by 3:25 PM.
• Michelle Obama delivered a speech at the Bowie State University commencement in Bowie Maryland.
• Jill Biden flew to Crownpoint New Mexico and addressed the graduating class of Navajo Technical College.

• President Obama held a  bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Erdogan of Turkey at 9:50 AM, and later the two held a joint press conference at noon. In mid afternoon, (3:45 PM), he met with Secretary of Defense and others to discuss sexual assault in the military. Next, the President met with his senior advisers at 4:30 PM. He ended the day by hosting a working dinner with PM Erdogan.
• B - Mr. & Mrs. Biden, along with John Kerry, hosted a lunch for Prime Minister Erdogan.

• President Obama received a daily briefing at 9:45 AM. He then delivered remarks at the National Peace Officers Memorial Service at 11 AM. Mr. Obama then had lunch with VP Biden at 12:30 PM. He met with Senator John McCain at 4 PM to discuss immigration reform. And, finally, he ended the day meeting with Senior Treasury Officials to discuss the IRS scandals.

During the past week, President Obama received 3 daily briefings, and met once with Secretaries Hagel and Lew. He also met with UK Prime Minister Cameron, electric utility CEOs, and Asia Pacific leaders. Altogether, he spent approximately 8 hours of the week attending to official business.

Much of the remaining portion of Mr. Obama's time was free. However, he did spend two days on the road and one day golfing. First he flew to Austin Texas to deliver remarks. Next, he flew to New York City and dedicated the day to Democratic fundraising events. Also, he hosted a dinner at the Jefferson Hotel for select Democratic House leaders.

Because Mr. Obama spends so little time tending to U.S. affairs, it is little wonder that he insists that he knows nothing about the IRS targeting conservative groups or about Benghazi.

• President Obama began the day at 10:00 AM when he held a meeting with Prime Minister Cameron of the United Kingdom. The two leaders then held a joint press conference at 11:15 AM.  Mr. Obama left the White House at 1:55 PM and flew to New York City where he attended 3 Democratic fundraising events. The first two were for the DNC. One was held at the home of Harvey Weinstein. The second was at the home of Alexandra Stanton and Sam Natapoff. The third event was a joint venture between the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and it was held at the Waldorf. Mr. Obama returned to Washington at 11:05 PM.

Next, he went to Applied Materials Inc where he toured their facilities and delivered remarks. He left Austin at 6:35 PM and flew back to Washington DC.
• Michelle Obama and Jill Biden hosted a Mother's Day tea 
• VP Biden hosted a breakfast meeting with Senator Patty Murray. At night, he was the keynote speaker at the 25th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner of the Congressional Fire Services Institute in Washington.

• President Obama received a daily briefing at 9:30 AM. At 2:25 PM, he met with electric utility CEOs. Next, he met with Secretary of Treasury Jack Lew at 4:00 PM. At 5:30 PM, he met with a  group of Asian American and Pacific Islanders national leaders. Lastly, he hosted a 6:30 PM dinner with members of the House Democratic Leadership at the Jefferson Hotel.
• VP Biden was the keynote speaker at the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies’ 19th Annual Gala Awards Dinner.

Mexico, Costa Rica, Golf, and DNC Events occupy Mr. Obama's schedule

President Obama's past week was dedicated to stimulating the economies of Mexico and Costa Rica. For this, he flew on Air Force One to Mexico City and San Jose and met with the respective leaders of those two countries. Upon returning back to Washington DC, the President spent one day traveling to Columbus Ohio and delivered the commencement address to the graduates of Ohio State University. The next day, he played golf with senators of both parties. Today, he spend most of the day meeting with the President of Korea.

The country remained safe because he attended 2 daily briefings and met with his senior advisers twice. In addition, he met with Secretaries Hagel, Kerry and Lew.

Tonight, Mr. Obama returns to his political roots by participating in a DNC event in Washington.
