Day Two in London

LONDON, ENGLAND - MAY 24: President of the Un...Image by Getty Images via @daylife
The second leg of the Obama European trip is a visit to London. Rather than spending last night in Dublin, the President's entourage left unexpectedly early do to an ash cloud emanating from an Icelandic volcano.

According to the radio news reporting, the President required 150 to 200 rooms in Buckingham Palace to house all of those traveling with him. That means that between 150 and 400 people accompanied the President from the U.S. to Europe. We don't know if the President has to pay for his rooms in London, but if each room costs $200 per night, we can expect hotel bills to range between $30,000 to $80,000 per night. This doesn't include other travel related expenditures such as food, drinks, local transportation, airfare, tips, security, etc.
